Encasing memories and feelings in a small box

One day, a friend gave me a small box as a gift.
Made from handmade Echizen washi (Japanese paper), it had a rounded form with no sharp edges.
Combined with the texture of the washi, it exuded a gentle atmosphere and somehow felt warm to the touch.

When I opened the lid, I found several folded letters inside.
Upon opening them, I discovered a collection of diary-like writings we had exchanged during our school days.
Though the paper was old and faded, the joyful times came vividly back to life.
Above all, I was delighted to know that they had treasured our memories together all this time.

The feelings of cherishing someone dear,
the spirit of treating objects with care that was embodied in this small box - I too wish to follow this example,

I made a promise to myself to treat the things around me and my precious memories with care.

Small everyday items were placed directly on tables and shelves.
Let this be an opportunity to store them in small boxes.
Office supplies used for work were left as they were after use.
Let us arrange them properly in small boxes for easy access next time.

The rounded form of the small box blends seamlessly wherever it is placed in a room.
When you carefully store various items in the small box, not only does it look neat, but it also brings a sense of clarity to your mind.

You notice yourself treating things with care and feel a subtle sense of joy.

Every morning when I leave for work, I take my house key from the small box placed at the entrance and put it in my bag.
With the resolve to cherish this day and work diligently, I straighten my back and leave the house.
When I return from work, that small box welcomes me with a gentle expression.
